Star Battle

A star in every row, column and region — never touching.

Star Battle — some know it as “two not touch” — is a grid cut into regions: every row, every column and every region takes the same number of stars, one or two depending on the board, and no two stars touch, not even at a corner. Nothing is given; the board starts empty. Here a tap crosses a cell out, a second tap puts a star on it and a third clears it, and each region stands on a quiet tint of its own so its shape reads at a glance. The crosses are your notes and only the stars are the answer — a star in trouble reddens, and there are no hints beyond that.

A new board every day — 6 × 6 ★, 8 × 8 ★★, and 10 × 10 ★★ — the same for everybody, each with a single solution that reasoning alone reaches. No timer and no account needed: a board left half-done waits for you until the day turns, at midnight UTC.

How to play

Place stars so that every row, every column and every outlined region holds exactly the number the board asks for — one on the small board, two on the others.

No two stars may touch, not even at a corner.

Crosses are your own notes of where a star cannot go; only the stars are the answer.

Tap a cell to cross it out, tap again for a star, once more to clear it. Drag across cells to cross out several at once.

A star turns red when it touches another, or when its row, column or region holds too many.

Solved: one star in each row, each column and each region, and no two of them touching.
Solved: two stars in each row, each column and each region, and no two of them touching.
